The circuitry in this unit which controls the timing advancement is digital which causes erratic and unstable changes which actually harms your engine in the long run. I have not managed to get my engine to go beyond 5000 RPMs (When the CDI advance engages) at any setting because the digital circuit causes a fluctuation between 0 and 18 degrees.
