Types of Engines

Pocket Bike and Midi Bikes (large size super pocket bike) are available with 3 types of engines. Small 2 stroke pocket bikes and ATV's normally have a small horizontal cylinder 47cc 40mm bore (actual 40cc) or 49cc 44mm bore.

Midi Bike and stand up scooter or go-ped have a vertical cylinder 2 stroke engine also available in many differant sizes but most popular are the 47cc (40cc) and 49cc 44mm bore. Some Midi bikes now have 4 stroke horizontal engine 50cc to 110cc same as in many Pit Bikes, monkey bikes, small ATV's and Dirt bikes.

2-stroke High Performance cylinders and heads.

The 47cc 40mm bore (actual 40cc) pocket bike engines normally have a 10mm wrist pin on the piston, so to upgrade your 40cc 40mm bore to a 49cc 44mm bore you have 2 choices.

1. Buy a 44mm big bore or piston with 10mm pin
2. Change your crank shaft for a 49cc 12mm pin
